Training conducted at fire station

Members of the Webster City Fire Department took part in a high-angle training last week at the fire station.

Through funding from the Fire Service Training bureau, PRI — a rescue training company — conducted the training with the local fire department members. The training focused on how to lower rescuers to victims, rescue them as well as all of the rigging required and firefighters also worked on their knot knowledge.

The firefighters spent most of Saturday as well as time during the week to learn the skills. Pictured, Dana Casey conducts a rescue with Cole Youngdale.

“All members learned a lot and were able to practice their skills,” Fire Chief Chuck Stansfield said. “Special thanks for all the members of WCFD for all of their hard work and dedication to always becoming better for their community.”
