Special workshop planned for Doodlebug reunion
Legacy Learning BRV?to offer quilt sessions
Doodlebug enthusiasts from all over the world will come to Webster City in mid-September to celebrate the 73rd year of the famed Doodlebug scooter. But in between a group ride and museum visit, a new and quite unique event will be held this year — a Doodlebug quilting workshop.
The workshop, sponsored by Legacy Learning – Boone River Valley, will allow participants to create the first ever “Doodlebug Quilt.”
Instructor Sharon Cline, will provide a preprinted Doodlebug panel for each 12-inch quilt block, or she says, participants can design their own. Cline says the quilt block will combine traditional piecing and paper piecing to create this one-of-a-kind Doodlebug Hiawatha replica, which is suitable for framing or for a pillow top
Cline said the one-of-a-kind Doodlebug pattern will be available for sale, but will also be provided to all who participate in the workshop.
The Doodlebug quilting workshop will be held Sep. 11 and 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Webster City AmericInn conference room. The cost to participate is $90, but 20 percent discount is available through Sept. 4.
