POET Biorefining awards 3 ‘Never Satisfied’ grants
$4,700 awarded to groups working to improve lives of youth, families
JEWELL – POET’s ‘Never Satisfied’ effort is a scholarship and grant program that helps passionate people reach their goals to help change the world. This year’s grant recipiants in and around the Jewell area are
Montgomery Memorial Library in Jewell, for their Community Room that provides a space for educational programs offered by the library staff as well as community members.
ISU Extension and Outreach – Hamilton County, for their Strengthening Families Program to help parents and youth learn to navigate together the challenges of middle school years.
Roland-Story FFA, for the student-run, 10,000 square-foot community garden that puts the skills of area youth to work planting, caring for and harvesting produce to donate to area food pantries.
“We had many applicants for this year’s grant program, and it’s amazing how many great people are working to improve our community,” said Kevin Monroe, General Manager of POET Biorefining – Jewell. “We are honored to play a role in helping these three groups provide opportunities for the families and young people here. I know their work and dedication will impact our area for years to come.”
