Remodeling continues at former WC clinic
Public Health, HeadStart and UDMO to be housed in facility
Work is progressing at the former Webster City Medical Clinic building which will soon become home to a campus of health and mental health agencies.
Board of Supervisors Chairman Doug Bailey said remodeling work is continuing.
“We have hopefully a state fire marshall inspection Wednesday that will then allow the occupancy of HeadStart,” he said. “The construction work on that area is all done so they will be the first occupants of the building.”
Bailey said that just inside the main doors of the former clinic, Upper Des Moines Opportunity Inc. will relocate its office. The agency is currently located at 711 Seneca St.
Bailey said UDMO plans to move into the new offices the first week of May.
Hamilton County Public Health will move into the building July 1.
The former Webster City Medical Clinic was given to the county by Van Diest Medical Center, following the acquisition and merger of the clinic with the Van Diest Family Health Clinic in 2017.
The stipulated use of the building is to be for mental health services and other health-care related services for the community.
Drs. Subhash Sahai, Sushma Sahai and Anil Sahai opened the Webster City Medical Clinic in 1983. The clinic building has been vacant since the merger with VDMC.
