Three generations are members of WCFD

Three generations of the Hayes family are working together, along with other firefighters, to keep Webster City residents safe.

According to Fire Chief Chuck Stansfield, Ted Hayes has been a member of the fire department for many years. His son, Brandon Hayes has served 27 years with the department and has been a full-time captain for 20 years.

Harrison Hayes and Hunter Hayes, Brandon Hayes twin sons, recently became volunteer firefighters with WCFD.

Capt. Hayes was recently honored as the American Legion Firefighter of the Year. He and his sons recently took part in the live fire training held on April 7 at the site of the former Shady Oaks Motel on east Second Street.

“It is this kind of dedication to the community and the fire department that keeps our community and its members safe,” said Stansfield.
