Two arrested for Thursday thefts

Harcourt men charged with misdemeanor theft and introducing controlled substances into an institution, a class D felony

Two Harcourt men are facing charges following arrests Thursday morning in Webster City.

The Webster City Police Department responded to a report of a theft from a property in the 800 block of Boone Street shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday. The reporting party gave a description of the suspect vehicle and a passenger in the vehicle. An officer located the vehicle minutes later in the 1300 block of Second Street and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.

The stolen property was located in the vehicle as well as several other items, the possession of which is under investigation. The occupants of the vehicle were placed under arrest and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

Jeremiah Jon Graham, 24 of Harcourt, was charged with Theft in the Fifth Degree and Introducing a Controlled Substance into an Institution.

Ray Spencer Hollers, 22 of Harcourt, was charged with Theft in the Fifth Degree, Introducing a Controlled Substance into an Institution and Driving While License Suspended.

Theft in the Fifth Degree is a Simple Misdemeanor punishable by a fine of no more than $625 and/or up to 30 days in jail. Introduction of a Controlled Substance into an Institution is a Class D Felony punishable by a fine of no more than $7,500 and up to 5 years of imprisonment. Driving with a Suspended License is a Simple Misdemeanor punishable by a fine of no more than $625 and or up to 30 days in jail as well as an assessment of a fine not less than $25 and no more than $2,500.

The Webster City Police Department was assisted by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. Additional charges are possible and the investigation is ongoing.
