Board looks to fill role of superintendent

The Webster City School Board of Directors will begin the search for a new superintendent tonight at 6 p.m. at the school office administration building.

The board will observe a presentation by McPherson & Jacobson on how to search for a new superintendent.

The board may then approve a search agreement with McPherson & Jacobson.

Superintendent Mike Sherwood announced his resignation at the Jan. 8 school board.

“It was just that time in my career,” said Sherwood. “It’s been 41 years. I’ve served here 14 years. People say you just wake up one day and you know and that day happened.”

Sherwood will be retiring at the end of the current contract year. His resignation will be effective at the end of the contract day on Saturday, June 30, 2018.

“It’s been a great 14 years and I appreciate everything,” said Sherwood.

The next school board will be held on Monday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. at the school administration office building.
