Area youngsters will have an opportunity to meet some animals from the Blank Park Zoo and experience a magic show this week at the Kendall Young Library’s children’s department.

Today, representatives of the Blank Park Zoo will make a visit to storytime at 10:30 a.m. The storytime is designed for children who have not yet attended kindergarten. Caregivers and siblings are welcome to attend, too.

The Amazing Rick Eugene is returning to the Kendall Young Library with a magic show on Thursday, July 20 at 6:00pm in the library meeting room.

This hour of magic and entertainment is designed for families and children of all ages are welcome to attend the free show. No pre-registration is required.

Eugene has been professionally performing for over 20 years and does an average of 300 shows each year. June and July are his busiest months, during the short time period Eugene performs over 180 shows.

According to his website, he is a member of the International Brotherhood Of Magicians, Quad City Magic Club, Big Brother Program, Magic Instructor for College for Kids, co-founder of Extreme Kids Helping Kids Day, and is on the Board of Directors for the Davenport Public Library.

When Eugene isn’t performing he sells children’s books to libraries and schools.
