VDMC to host free screening of ‘Sing’ Monday

Hospital officials say event will kick-off National Hospital Week

Van Diest Medical Center is inviting the community to a free showing of the movie, “Sing,” rated PG, on Monday, May 8 at 7 p.m. at the Webster Theater in Webster City.

“Sing” is an animated film based on a city of humanoid animals in which a hustling theater impresario’s attempt to save his theater with a singing competition becomes grander than he anticipates, even as finalists learn that their lives will never be the same. The winner of the competition will receive $100,000 but will this be enough to return the theater to glory? Stars and familiar voices from the movie include Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane and Scarlett Johansson.

The free community showing of “Sing” will kick-off National Hospital Week, celebrated, May 7 – 13, with this year’s theme, “The Healing Heart of Healthcare.”
