Bacon, Behn town hall set

Event to be held March 18 at WC City Hall

Rep. Rob Bacon, R-Slater, House District 48, and Sen. Jerry Behn, R-Boone, District 24 will be in Webster City, March 18 from 10 to 11 a.m. at City Hall for a Town Hall Meeting.

The meeting is open to the public and hosted by the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce.

Behn, Senate President Pro Tempore, sits on the following committees: Ethics (Chair), Ways and Means (Vice Chair), Education, Natural Resources, Rules and Administration, Legislative Council. Growing Iowa’s economy has been an important part of Senator Behn’s work in the Senate. He continues to focus on initiatives to help create jobs and attract more businesses to the state.

Behn graduated from United Community High School, and has been farming for 36 years. He is a member of Farm Bureau, Iowa Soybean Association, and the Iowa Association of Business and Industry.

Bacon sits on the following state committees: Natural Resources (Chair), Human Resources, State Government, Transportation, Ag and Department of Natural Resources Budget. He has been an Iowan since 1975 when he moved here to attend college. He is a licensed funeral director and has worked in funeral homes since 1977, and has served as manager, partner, and owner of Bacon Funeral Homes.

Bacon is a Member of the Nevada Rotary Club, Iowa Funeral Directors Association, and the United Methodist Church.

Bacon was previously elected to the State Senate but in 2010 decided to run for the House.
