ABCM Corp. homes on list of Iowa’s best

ABCM Corporation, a long-term care leader in Iowa for more than 50 years, announced last week 14 of the company’s homes across Iowa have been named to the U.S. News and World Report’s Best Nursing Homes in Iowa list.

The ABCM Corporation homes with Five-Star ratings include: Rehabilitation Center of Allison in Allison, Maple Manor Village in Aplington, Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong, Rehabilitation Center of Belmond in Belmond, Westview Care Center in Britt, Colonial Manor in Elma, Emmetsburg Care Center in Emmetsburg, Concord Care Center in Garner, Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills, Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs, Oelwein Healthcare Center in Oelwein, Manor House Care Center in Sigourney, Northgate Care Center in Waukon and Southfield Wellness Community in Webster City.

U.S. News displays data about nearly every care center in the United States, updating the information every quarter and using it to rate and rank the homes. As reported in the news magazine, out of 443 licensed homes, only 108 Iowa care centers received their highest Five-Star rating.

The rankings are built on data from Nursing Home Compare, a consumer website run by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The data for Nursing Home Compare come from regular state health inspections and from the homes themselves. Based on the information, CMS assigns one to five stars across three major rating elements of health inspections, nurse staffing, and quality of care plus an overall rating. All homes on the U.S. News and World Report’s Best Nursing Homes in Iowa list received a five star rating.
