Women’s Club to hold party for Jane Young

The Webster City Women’s Club Board met Monday, Aug. 3 at the Jane Young House with President Joleen Hibbing conducting the meeting.

It was announced that the new “Writing Club” will meet at 10:30 a.m., Aug. 19 at the Kendall Young Park in the stone shelter. Any club member is welcome to attend.

After a long delay in meetings due to COVID-19, the Women’s Club will be celebrating Jane Young’s birthday with cake and coffee on Monday, Aug. 23 at 1:30 p.m. at the Jane Young House.

Jane Young was born in 1834 and was the wife of Kendall Young, who upon his death gave the entire estate to Webster City to build a town library.

Members are encouraged to attend and bring a friend.

A program on Jane Young is scheduled and masks are recommended.
