Webster City High School will present “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” adapted by Claudia Haas based on the play by William Shakespeare. Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. in Prem Sahai Auditorium.

A cleverly compressed version of Shakespeare’s classic comedy, this adaptation preserves the original poetry while simplifying the language and adding practical stage directions. The story is framed by the Dreamer, a modern student frustrated in her attempts to memorize and make sense of a Midsummer monologue. As she begins to nod off, the Dreamer is visited by Puck, an impish fairy who sweeps the sleeping girl into the play itself — a world of mischief, magic, and love.

The cast includes:  The Dreamer — MaggieJo Atchison; Puck–Charlotte Judkins; Moth — Mrs. Heather Noethe; MustardSeed — Emma Ouverson; Cobweb — Meywelyn Enriques; PeaseBlossom — Molly Kenville; Theseus — keVon Edwards; Hippolyta — Isabelle Hooker; Egeus — Tucker Judkins; Hermia — Gianna Borer; Lysander — Noah Griswold; Demetrius — Kyle Chieng; Helena — Kam Neddermeyer; Quince — Joey Ott; Nick Bottom — Derek Krieger; Frances Flute — Emma Stroner; Robin Starveling — Codey Berg; Tammie Snout–Anna Atchison; Snug the Joiner — Mackenzie Burney; Oberon The fairy King — Daniel Blankenship and Titania The Fairy Queen –Rachel Derrig.
