Talent competition coming to fair

Auditions to be held July 29 at Ed Prince Stage

A Bill Riley Talent Search contest is scheduled for July 29 during the Hamilton County Fair in Webster City. The event will be on the Ed Prince Stage beginning at 4 p.m.

Competition includes a Senior division for ages 13 to 21 and a Sprout division for ages 2 to 12. The winner from each age group qualifies to participate in the annual Iowa State Fair Bill Riley Talent Search in Des Moines during the Iowa State Fair.

Vocalists, dancers and instrumentalists are encouraged to participate. There are no categories for combos, rock bands or similar musical groups. There is no cost to enter.

Local chairperson is Tennie Carlson, Hamilton County Fair Board member from Stratford.

Entries are due by July 10 and may be mailed or made in person at the Secretary’s Office on the Hamilton County Fairgrounds.
