Cast named for holiday show

The cast for Webster City Community Theatre’s holiday show, “Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells”?has neem announced by Director Stephanie Hill.

The play brings to life the favorite character of the Junie B. Jones series of children’s books by Barbara Park.

The cast features Mykah Kennedy as Junie B.; Morgan Shannon as her nemesis May and Mikey Paisley as her bestest friend, Herb. Other students are Kaitlyn Wagner as Lucille, Zach Dodge as Sheldon and Benjamin Grimshaw as Jose. Donovan Khanthongdy takes on the role of the first grade teacher, Mr. Scary, while Grimshaw also portrays Mr. Toot, the music teacher. Sharon Helm joins the cast as Elf Ellen, Paisley doubles as Grandpa Miller and Dodge voices Junie B’s stuffed elephant, Philip Johnny Bob.

In the play, it’s holiday time and Room One is doing lots of happy things to celebrate, like wearing elf costumes and singing joyful songs. How can Junie B. enjoy the festivities when Tattletale May keeps ruining her holiday glee??And the worst part is when everyone picks names for Secret Santa, Junie B. gets stuck with Tattletale You-Know- Who. Maybe a Secret Santa gift is the perfect opportunity to give May exactly what she deserves.

The production will be presented Dec. 4 to 6 and Dec. 11 to 13. Tickets go on sale Nov. 28. To reserve seats, call 832-4456 or order online at www.wcctonline.org. Tickets may also be purchased at the door one hour prior to each show.

The play is produced by special arrangement with Playscripts Inc.
