Doris M. Laughlin is celebrating her 95th birthday with a reception in the Parish Center Foyer of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1010 Des Moines St., on Sunday, October 16th from 11am to 1 pm.

Doris and her late husband, Pat Laughlin,

moved from Mason City to Webster City nearly 70 years ago, and opened the East Side Grocery on old Hwy 20. In addition to the family’s grocery business, Pat was a long-time city councilman, and also served as Mayor, with Doris as his First Lady of the City.

The couple’s children are Tom (Diane) Laughlin of Kansas City, MO; Sharon Laughlin, also of Kansas City; Patricia (Tim) Richards of Southbury, CT; and Mary (George) Kramer of Baudette MN, as well as five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
