WEBSTER CITY — Austin Lampman was the anchor on the offensive line of the best offense in Class 3A District 2 this season. So it makes perfect sense that he was regarded as one of the district’s premier players.

The Webster City senior was one of eight Lynx players to be named to the all-district team at season’s end. Lampman was mistakenly left off the list of award winners in Tuesday’s story in The Daily Freeman-Journal.

Joining Lampman on the all-district squad were teammates Dylan Steen, Caleb Olson, Drake Doolittle, Henry Hoversten, Cade Felts, Nathan Ferrell and Garrett Whitmore. Among the honorable mention selections for the Lynx were Trace Kepler, Carson Struchen and Carsen Johnson.

At an offensive tackle position, Lampman, a multiple-year starter, led a group that opened the holes for WCHS to rush for 2,387 yards. The Lynx led the district by more than 1,000 yards and they finished the season in the top 10 in Class 3A.

WCHS also led the district in total offense with 2,944 yards.

Defensively, Lampman made 26 tackles, 23 of them solo stops, from a tackle position.
