Tanner scores career-high 30, not enough against Greene County

WEBSTER CITY — A career-high 30 points from Jordan Tanner wasn’t enough for the Webster City boys’ basketball team on Saturday, as it dropped a 70-65 contest to Greene County.

Tanner connected on 10 of 14 shots, including 3 of 4 from behind the arc, and buried all seven of his free throw attempts for the Lynx (8-5).

“Jordan played really well and he carried us,” WCHS head coach Marty McKinney said.

Noah McKinney and Henry Hoversten added 12 points each. Hoversten also collected six rebounds and four assists.

Greene County (9-5) had four players score in double figures — Trey Hinote (19), Wade Adcock (17), Joe Towers (15) and Lance Hughes (11).

WCHS will be at Humboldt on Tuesday.
