HAWK BOYS THIRD AT CLEAR LAKE: The No. 8-ranked (Class 2A) South Hamilton boys’ cross country team placed third at yesterday’s Clear Lake Invite.

The host and ninth-ranked (3A) Lions won the meet, followed by 14th-ranked (3A) Humboldt. No. 11-ranked (2A) Garner-Hayfield/Ventura was fourth.

South Hamilton again put three runners in the top 10, led by junior Logan Peters in fourth. Josiah Brown, a senior, was seventh, and sophomore Quinton Grove took ninth.

Freshman Ty Skartvedt added a 14th-place finish and Aaron Hegland was 40th.

No team points, times, or girls results were available as of press time.

NORSE BEAT SH SPIKERS IN 5: Roland-Story survived a frantic comeback and fended off South Hamilton in five tight sets last night in Jewell.

The Norsemen (10-3, 3-0 HOIC) won by scores of 25-23, 25-23, 17-25, 27-29, 17-15.

No other information was available as of press time.

South Hamilton (15-5, 0-2 HOIC) will go on the road to take on Saydel Tuesday night.
