Hawks tripped up by old HOIC rival Tigerhawks

DES MOINES — The South Hamilton wrestling team took part in its first duals of the season here last night.

The Hawks were at Saydel High School to take on the host Eagles and Roland-Story in Heart of Iowa Conference action. Former HOIC member Colfax-Mingo also joined to make the meet a quadrangular.

South Hamilton fell to Colfax-Mingo, 59-21. Scores and results from the other two duals weren’t available at press time.

Keaton Hetland (132 pounds), Drake Thompson (145), Luke Peters (170) and Noah Lutter (182) were all winners on the mat against the Tigerhawks. South Hamilton dropped six matches and gave up 24 free points on four forfeits.

Peters needed just 26 seconds to deck Johnathan Bowman, while Hetland toyed with Tim Carroll for only 56 seconds before showing him the lights.

Lutter earned a fall over Xavier Anderson in 3:46 and Thompson disposed of Trystin Ross, 11-7.

South Hamilton will compete in the Central Springs Duals Saturday.
