Trojans return home to face an unfamiliar opponent

BLAIRSBURG – Northeast Hamilton steps into unchartered waters tonight when it plays host to East Union in Class 8-man District 7 action.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Trojans (2-3, 1-2) and Eagles (3-2, 2-1) are meeting for the first time. East Union will make the 137-mile trip from Afton, located in southwest Iowa.

Northeast Hamilton will have to contain dual-threat quarterback Cole Campbell, who has rushed for 409 yards and eight touchdowns and passed for 433 more yards and eight scores. Campbell averages 5.7 yards per carry.

East Union enters averaging 46 points per game and has scored 60 or more points twice, including last week in a 68-33 throttling of Ankeny Christian.

Northeast Hamilton’s mission will be to chew up clock behind the running prowess of Andy Pate and Nick Jeffers. They’ve combined to rush for 1,004 yards and 17 touchdowns.
