NEH, WCHS VOLLEYBALL BRIEFS

REIGNING CHAMPS TAKE OUT TROJETS: No. 3-ranked (Class 1A) Janesville, the 2013 state champion, took care of Northeast Hamilton in three sets in an Iowa Star Conference volleyball match Thursday evening in Blairsburg.

The Wildcats (14-7, 6-0 ISC) were never threatened en route to a 25-4, 25-11, 25-10 sweep.

“We can’t complain about that match,” NEH head coach Kacey Pruismann said. “I would rather lose to a great team playing solid volleyball than win against anyone else while playing subpar. I like nights like these, playing up to the competition.”

Brooke Evans led NEH (1-21, 1-6 ISC) with three kills. Lillian Chamness distributed four assists and Tiffany Werner Moore had three.

Cassidy Nerland led the defense with six digs. Evans, Taylor Olson and MaKayla Tapper all had two.

CADETS WIN JV MATCH: Iowa Falls-Alden swept Webster City in two sets, 21-19, 21-15, in junior varsity volleyball action last night.

Andi Anderson and Olivia Myers both ripped four kills for the Lynx, who are now 6-4-3 overall and 3-2 in the North Central Conference. Hannah Williams and Kenzie Garvey had two each.

Chelsey Wagoner collected nine digs, while Anderson added six and Keni Geis four.

Courtney Lampman distributed 12 assists.

CADETS WIN FRESHMAN MATCH TOO: The Webster City freshman volleyball team dropped a three-set decision to Iowa Falls-Alden yesterday evening.

The Cadets won by scores of 21-9, 21-23, 15-4.

Lacey Westberg and Halle Mason both had three service aces for the Lynx. Sarah Vogelbacher doled out 10 assists.
