Hawks face top offense in 1A against No. 7 Ogden

JEWELL – A new week, a new difficult challenge in Class 1A District 7.

South Hamilton (3-1, 1-1) will celebrate homecoming this evening at Taylor Field against seventh-ranked and unbeaten Ogden (4-0, 2-0). Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Nobody in 1A has been able to keep up with Ogden, which leads the class in total offense (1,899 yards) and scoring (45.5 points per game). The Bulldogs have crushed their first four opponents by an average of 241?2 points.

South Hamilton isn’t exactly shabby on the defensive side of the ball, but the Hawks will see a spread offense for the first time tonight. But that doesn’t mean Ogden is all about the pass; running back Austin Lentz ranks second in 1A in rushing with 805 yards. Quarterback Cayce Good is second in passing yards with 887. The West brothers – Luke and Jake – have combined to catch 39 passes for 596 yards and 5 touchdowns.
