Lee, Paukert pepper net; WCHS girls win third straight match on pitch

MAXWELL – Jesse Lee unleashed her third four-goal match of the season and Sarah Paukert got into the act as well, as the Webster City girls’ soccer team captured its third straight victory here last night.

The Lynx (7-8) built a 3-1 halftime lead and then scored four unanswered goals in the second half en route to a 7-2 victory. They’ve outscored the Raiders (2-10) 13-2 in two matches this season.

Lee scored twice in the first half and twice more after the intermission to up her season total to 24 goals. Paukert ripped the net once in each half.

Mariah Pride notched a goal late in the second half.

Hannah Williams, Molly Gilbert and Grace Bryan all registered an assist.

WCHS will face Garner-Hayfield/Ventura in Garner Thursday evening.
