FAIRFAX, Iowa (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a man killed following severe weather in eastern Iowa.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says 57-year-old David Lee Fry, of Cedar Rapids, was killed Monday afternoon after a building he was in collapsed in Fairfax. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second person, 62-year-old Cedric Brownfield, also of Cedar Rapids, was in the building with Fry. He received non-life-threatening injuries and freed himself from the structure.

Authorities say strong winds in the area caused the building to collapse.

Both Fry and Brownfield were working in the building for Intermec, a technology company. A spokesman said in a statement Tuesday that the company's "thoughts and prayers are with our colleague's family during this difficult time."
