Jury selection will continue in murder trial

MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) — Jury selection will continue in the first-degree murder trial of a man accused in the 1994 killing of a 20-month-old boy in Mason City.

Lawyers on Monday began questioning 32 potential jurors for the trial of 38-year-old Michael Cisneros in Cerro Gordo County District Court. The Mason City Globe Gazette reports ( ) they'll continue jury selection on Tuesday morning.

Cisneros is charged with killing John Snyder Jr., a Mason City toddler who went missing on July 20, 1994. His body was found the next day in a creek.

Cisneros was arrested in July 2013 after investigators say DNA analysis linked him to the killing.

Cisneros has pleaded not guilty.
