NWTF awards scholarship

July 22, 2014
The Daily Freeman Journal
Joey Root, left, son of Paul and Ann Root of Webster City, received a $1,300 scholarship from the Neil Daniels, National Wild Turkey Federation chairman. Root is a 2014 graduate of Webster City High School and plans to attend Iowa State University to pursue a degree in conservation. The Des Moines River Ghosts Chapter, Fort Dodge, and the Iowa NWTF were instrumental in getting the scholarship. The National Wild Turkey Federation has a very lucrative scholarship program which is divided into three parts: local, state and national. Root is the second WCHS student to receive the scholarship funds. Applications for the scholarship are available in the school guidance counselor’s office at the high school.
