Williams will observe the 63rd annual Lions Club Fourth of July celebration on Friday starting with the grand parade at 10 a.m.
Lynn and Elaine Elm will serve as the parade Grand Marshals as it winds throughout downtown Williams with commercial, family and individual floats, kid created entries, machinery, cars, horses and antiques.
The American Legion Harley Freedom Riders will also be featured in the parade.
The Williams American Legion Post 633 present the Colors at the beginning of the 2013 Williams July 4 parade.
Parade entries are asked to register at the Prairie Land Co-op office by 9:30 a.m.
Following the parade, the Hemken Collection will be open until 5 p.m. and the Williams American Legion Post 633 Museum will be open by appointment by calling 515 854-2428.
The Caruth Antique Tractor display welcomes all makes and models of machinery during the holiday event.
The Williams City Park will host the day's activities following the parade.
At 11:15 a.m., the children's foot races will kick-off.
At noon, Wayne and Deb Bameier will present their Working Dog demonstration at the northeast corner of the park.
The Little Princess Program is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. This year's candidates are: Brooklyn Doolittle, daughter of Eric and Krystal; Mary'leeana Farrand-Coco, daughter of Brittany and Preston; Madison Henrichs, daughter of Tim and Jill; Sylvia Otteros, daughter of Quin and Rachel; Harper Range, daughter of Amanda and Cody; Jordan Riggs, daughter of Sherrie; and Alivia Wahlert, daughter of Carina and Wade.
The Williams Lions Club cash drawings will be held at 3 p.m. with a $500 grand prize and ten $25 prizes awarded.
Throughout the day, the area churches are manning the concession stand and serving hamburgers, hot dogs, cakes, pies, soda and chips.
The Lions Club Bingo and Cake Walk will also be held throughout the day.
The highlight of the day and the conclusion of the festivities will begin at dusk when the legendary Williams fireworks display lights up the northeast Hamilton County sky.
