A whole grade sharing agreement with the Northeast Hamilton School District was approved by the Webster City Community School District Board of Directors at a meeting on Monday.
The Northeast Hamilton School Board approved the agreement at a meeting on June 12. The agreement will take effect at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year. That year, Northeast Hamilton students in grades 7 through 12 will attend their classes at Webster City schools.
In other business, the board heard an update on construction at district facilities. Sherwood said asbestos removal began on Monday at Pleasant View Elementary School. He said minor asbestos removal projects will also take place at Sunset Heights Elementary School and Webster City High School over the summer.
Other projects include replacing several doors at Sunset Heights, landscaping and carpet replacement at Webster City Middle School, remodeling and installing garage doors at the Phelps Building and installing half-steps, new handrails and re-leveling the bleachers at the Webster City High School football field. Sherwood said this year's round of summer construction is focusing on projects that have been put off in past years.
"This has really just kind of been the summer to try to catch up," Sherwood said.
Also at the meeting, the board approved the resignations of Brian Kierzek, high school science teacher, and Heather Kierzek, juvenile court liaison officer.
The next board meeting is set for July 28 at 6 p.m. in the School Administration Office Board Room.
