A second Webster City High School administrator has tendered his resignation this week.
The school board met early Wednesday morning to accept the resignation of Troy Smock, high school assistant principal and head boys baseball coach. Smock leaves after two years with the district and has accepted a position with Tipton High School. His resignation will take effect at the conclusion of the baseball season.
His resignation follows on the heels of the announcement John Elkin, principal, would leave the district to become the principal at Carlisle Middle School.
The district now faces the task of hiring two new high school administrators.
"I think we'll be OK," said Superintendent Mike Sherwood. "We have some candidates lined up already."
Sherwood admitted that finding replacements during the summer can be a daunting task.
"It's not as deep a pool of candidates this time of year," he said. "But we have some quality candidates."
The board also accepted the resignation of part-time high school vocal music teacher Nicole Farley. She will be the new vocal music instructor at Gilbert High School. A resignation from Michelle Eimers, a special education teacher at the middle school, was also accepted.
