The Hotel/Motel Tax Board met on Wednesday to review applications and determine finalists for grants.
Five applications were submitted for this round of grants. In total, those applicants are requesting $102,688 in grant funding.
The Doodlebug Club of American is requesting $1,100 to help fund the 28th Annual Doodlebug Reunion in Webster City.
The Help Entertain and Restore Organization is requesting $25,000 to assist their Save the Webster Theater project.
Legacy Learning Boone River Valley is requesting $19,198 for marketing efforts.
The Executive Inn requested $33,380 to fund a meeting room addition.
The Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce is requesting $24,010 to create a marketing plan for tourism.
All applicants except for The Executive Inn were deemed finalists as per the board's decision. Finalists will give presentations on their projects to the board and community members on June 23 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall in Webster City. The board will then meet to make the final determination of recommendations on June 25 at 5 p.m. at City Hall. Those recommendations will be submitted to the City Council for their meeting on July 7 at 5:15 p.m.
