Summer reading programs at Kendall Young Library have begun and will run through July 31.
Kids three-years-old through fifth grade can read books and earn prizes during the program. Kids are invited to join in fun activities at the library. Events include include a rocket building program on June 30 from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. for those who finished kindergarten to those who finished fourth grade in the last school year. Kids are also invited to participate in storytimes, crafts and movies during the summer program.
For every hour that teens who participate in the program read, they earn a spit on a prize wheel. Prizes include coupons to local businesses, technology accessories and more. Teen Tuesdays for grades six through 12 will be held every week from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Adults can also get in on the fun. Those who read books can enter and win prizes. Entry forms to win a Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker and other prizes are available at the library.
