Frank Culbertson, 90, passed away May 31, 2014, at Southfield Wellness Community. His body has been donated to Science Care for science research.
Frank was born April 15 1924, to the Reverends Robert and Mabel Culbertson, in New Providence, Iowa, where his parents served the Honey Creek Church and the Chester Church as Quaker ministers. The family moved to Blairsburg in 1928, and Frank attended school there, being graduated from high school in 1942. He served in the Navy from 1944-1946, and then attended Webster City Junior College, being graduated from there in 1948. He attended Iowa State College (now University), being graduated in 1950. He worked for DeKalb Agricultural Assn. upon graduation, retiring in 1983.
In 1952 Frank married Sue McCauliff in Webster City. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by an infant son, James, sister, Della Arnold, and brother, Paul. He is survived by his wife and children: Robert Nelson II, Lon (Marcia), Tom, and Molly, four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, sister, Frances Wicks and brother, Robert G. Culbertson. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 6, at 10:30 a.m., at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Callender, Iowa.
