Hamilton County Seniors and Law Enforcement Together, SALT, will be held June 5 at the historic Blairsburg Opera House in Blairsburg.
Free blood pressure checks will be offered from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The SALT meeting will then begin with treats and upcoming local events from each Hamilton County community. The program will follow.
"Genealogy Hunting in Hamilton County" will be the program. Some tips for using online resources in the setting of a restored turn-of-the century opera house will shared. Jackie Fredrickson will be sharing how to use a website that shares information specific to Hamilton County such as cemeteries and links to vital records. The website also lists an 1866 business directory of Webster City, Iowa. This is a great opportunity if you are looking for vital records and would like to learn the information available and how to navigate within the online resource.
All SALT meetings are free of charge and open to any interested citizen. No reservations are required to attend. For additional information, please contact Susan Schmitz, ISU Extension and Outreach, Hamilton County, at 515-832-9597.
