CLEAR LAKE - Just like it did in the first meeting this spring, Clear Lake handed Webster City a 9-0 loss in a girls' tennis dual here yesterday afternoon.
Webster City failed to threaten in any of the six singles or three doubles matches. The Lynx registered three game wins in just two of the bouts.
"They're good," WCHS head coach Heather Kierzek said of the Lions. "I thought we put up more of a fight this time."
No. 3 singles player Sierra Anderson dropped a 10-3 decision to Kylie Botjen and no other WCHS player won more than two games.
The WCHS doubles team of Ashley Richardson and Olivia Tasler were knocked off 8-3 by Miranda Mundt and Reagan Brackey. The other two doubles matches went 8-1 and 8-0 in the Lions' favor.
The Lynx will take part in a Class 1A singles/doubles district tournament on Thursday in Waterloo. Play will get underway at 9 a.m.
