A couple weeks after their own prom, Webster City High School students took the festivities to Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation on Wednesday to host a senior prom.
Dozens of students in the high school peer helper class dressed up along with Crestview residents for their first inaugural prom event. Students danced with Crestview residents, showed off their prom attire as they walked in pairs down down a red carpet and enjoyed refreshments with the residents. The entrance area of Crestview was decorated in red, black and white with a roaring twenties, "Puttin' on the Ritz" theme.
Diane Stribe, activities assistant at Crestview, said she was very appreciative of the students who prepared the prom event for residents.

"A lot of our people missed this when they were at the appropriate age, but now they have a chance to do it," Stribe said. "We just think the idea of the intergenerational thing is very special."
Webster City High School peer helper students have been enjoying time with Crestview residents for a semester. Stribe said they are currently working with Crestview residents on writing their life stories.
