CLEAR LAKE - Clear Lake has long been one of the elites in the Class 3A boys' golf landscape.
So to beat the Lions on their home course? Yeah, kind of a big deal.
A day after topping Clear Lake at the Spencer Invitational, Webster City did it again yesterday afternoon - this time by the slimmest of margins - at the All Vets Club.
"We had a nice rebound meet," WCHS head coach Dave Brighton said. "It was a good way to recover from (finishing second) at the Spencer Invite."
The Lynx recorded three sub-40 rounds and fired a 155 to nip the Lions (156) by one shot. Clarion-Goldfield (172) brought up the rear at the North Central Conference triangular.
Returning state qualifier Alec Fuhs led WCHS with a 37, two shots in front of his twin brother Avery (39) and fellow teammate Logan Yates (39).

"Another bright sign of our depth was Connor Shannon," Brighton said.
