Dan Morton, M.D., 65, of Amarillo, died Sunday, April 6, 2014.
Memorial services were at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2014, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, in Amarillo, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Dan was born July 23, 1948, in Webster City, Iowa to John and Marie Morton. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Iowa. Furthering his education, Dan graduated from University of South Dakota and Texas Tech School of Medicine. Dan completed his residency at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He married Janet Yeary on Aug. 7, 1976, in Sioux Falls and they have lived in Amarillo since 1977. Dan practiced medicine in the Northwest Texas Hospital emergency room. Dan was an avid car enthusiast and loved spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Janet Morton, of Amarillo; two sons, Erik Charles Morton and James Robert Morton and his fiance, Sherry Ann Kornegay, all of Amarillo; a sister, Kathy Morton of Harrisburg, Missouri; a brother, John Morton and wife Linda of Des Moines, Iowa; and two grandchildren, Kiera and Shelby Morton.
