HUMBOLDT - First place was never an option, but second place was up for grabs and the Webster City boys' track team went out and seized it Friday at the Charlie Bunn Relays.
Algona dominated from start to finish, piling up 11 event victories and 182 points to take the team title easily. Webster City collected eight top-three performances and scored 87.5 points to land in the runner-up spot ahead of Humboldt (76.5) and Pocahontas Area (71).
"The coaching staff continues to be impressed with the competitive nature of the team," WCHS head coach Tony Bussan said. "Regardless of ability, whenever we find ourselves in position, we battle for every place possible. That attitude makes this group very enjoyable to coach.
