Lance Draeger will be joining The Daily Freeman-Journal's staff on Monday, April 14 as an advertising consultant.
Draeger has his roots in Webster City. He graduated from Webster City High School in 2002 and was involved in sports including football and wrestling. He then attended Iowa Central Community College and graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in human sciences. Draeger said his degree reflects his desire to work with people in his community.
"I love working with people. Hopefully, that's what I continue to do and I think this will add to that," Draeger said.
In Webster City, Draeger said he has worked at Fuller Hall since 2000 and also worked at a couple local factories. He said he's looking forward to his new position as advertising consultant as it marks his first full-time career move in Webster City.
"I've had a couple full-time jobs here, but to have something where I knew I was going to stick around permanently is great. I'm comfortable with this and I get to work with my old friend who I went to school with," Draeger said.
That friend is Advertising Manager Josh Lovelace, who said he's also looking forward to working with Draeger.
"We're extremely excited for Lance to start as part of The Daily Freeman-Journal's advertising team," Lovelace said. "I think he'll bring a great local enthusiasm to the job."
Those wishing to meet Draeger can either stop by The Daily Freeman-Journal during normal office hours or call 832-4350 to set up an appointment next week.
