‘Critical’ conditions for fire

April 10, 2014
The Daily Freeman Journal
The fire departments of Williams and Blairsburg responded to a fire near Interstate 35 on Wednesday afternoon. The fire, located at 2444 and 2490 Ubben Avenue northeast of Jewell, occurred during a “red flag” warning across the state of Iowa. The warning indicated that the dry, warm and windy weather created a critical risk of outdoor fires spreading. An official report was not available at press time.
