New Eagle Scouts

April 3, 2014
The Daily Freeman Journal
Sunday afternoon Boy Scout Troop 17 held an official Court of Honor to award the highest rank a Scout can achieve, that of Eagle Scout. There were a record number of four boys achieving Eagle Scout at once this year. They include, from the left, Colin Heinrichs, John Bergeson, Adam McMurray and Ryan Heinrichs. Scouts must earn at least 21 merit badges, six ranks and complete a community-beneficial Eagle Scout project from the time they cross over into Boy Scouts in sixth grade until the age of 18.
Scoutmaster Dave Bergeson stated, 'Earning the rank of Eagle is such a huge milestone and to have four of our young men crossing over is outstanding. They have worked hard over the years to achieve this and I am humbled and so proud to have witnessed them grow into the amazing young men they are today. The world needs more Eagle Scouts like these four.'
