FORT DODGE - Sixth-ranked Fort Dodge St. Edmond dominated from end line to end line here last night to send South Hamilton packing from the postseason in a Class 2A regional quarterfinal.
The Gaels (20-2) collected 19 steals, forced 29 turnovers and scored 34 points off those miscues en route to a 79-23 romp.
It was 24-9 in St. Edmond's favor after the initial eight minutes and the Gaels were just getting started. They outscored South Hamilton (2-21) 28-6 in the second quarter to slam the door shut and take a 52-15 lead into the half.
Do-everything forward Alli Huss poured in 34 points in the win. Jaci Stumpf added 18 and Anna Yung gave the Gaels a third double-digit scorer with 11.
South Hamilton connected on just 1 of 16 3-point attempts and shot 18 percent overall; no player reached double figures. Savana Stangeland came close and finished with nine points.
