Darrell Keith Klaver went to his eternal home on February 7, 2014. He was 84 years old. Born on May 3, 1929, in Webster City, Iowa, Darrell was the younger of two sons. His parents were George and Anna Klaver. Darrell graduated from Kamrar High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953.
At age 22, Darrell married his forever sweetheart Evelyn Mae Greenfield while on a 10-day furlough. Upon his return from the service, he and Evelyn began farming in Ellsworth and continued to work side-by-side for more than 40 years.
Darrell will always be remembered for his dedication to music and worship. He served as church pianist and organist for over 60 years. He also blessed so many as the pianist for a several gospel quartets, and as accompanist for weddings, funerals, and community events.
Darrell was a man of faith, who was committed to his family, community, his beloved wife, his church and the Lord Jesus Christ. He is survived by his three sons Steven (Sarina), Dennis (Gina) and Glen (Carolyn) along with four grandchildren Elisa, Jillian, Adam and Kirsten. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, infant daughter Darlene Kay, his parents, and his brother Eugene.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at Community Church of Kamrar on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 11:00am. Visitation will be at Community Church of Kamrar on Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 5:00pm 8:00pm.
