NE HAMILTON HOOPS BRIEFS

TROJANS FALL TWICE, DIP TO 7-11: An extended weekend road trip yielded back-to-back losses for the Northeast Hamilton boys' basketball team.

The Trojans (7-11, 5-10 ISC) dropped an Iowa Star Conference contest to sixth-ranked (Class 1A) Dunkerton (68-36) on Friday, followed by a league setback against Tripoli (58-32) on Saturday.

Trevor Jacobsen drained seven 3-pointers and scored 23 points for the Red Raiders (19-1, 15-1 ISC), who led 43-15 at the break. Drake recruit Kory Kuenstling netted 14 points and Nick Anderson had 10.

Logan Seiser fought for 13 points for NEH in the loss to Dunkerton, but fell two rebounds short of collecting his 17th double-double of the season. Austin Smith added eight points.

Seiser got back on the double-double train on Saturday with 18 points and 14 boards. Nick Jeffers and Hunter Dilley both chipped in five points.

Tripoli (11-8, 11-6 ISC) led wire-to-wire.

TROJETS DROP 2 MORE ON ROAD: Northeast Hamilton continued to struggle scoring points in a pair of Iowa Star Conference losses over the weekend.

The Trojets (0-18, 0-15) scored more than five points in just one of eight quarters in lopsided losses to seventh-ranked (Class 1A) Dunkerton (59-22) and Tripoli (43-8) on Friday and Saturday.

Dunkerton (18-3, 15-1 ISC) led 23-6 at the half and then outscored NEH 20-5 in the third quarter. The Red Raiders received 14 points from Jordyn Nagel and 12 from Jesse Rottinghaus.

Lillian Chamness led NEH with seven points and Andi Anderson added six.

Tripoli jumped on the Trojets 17-0 in the first quarter on Saturday and limited them to four field goals. Chamness scored half of the NEH points.

McKayla Meyer canned four 3-pointers and scored 16 points for the Panthers (12-5, 9-5 ISC). Kaitlin Westendorf chipped in 10.
