FORT DODGE - JD Rader isn't fooling around, not that he has at any point this season.

South Hamilton's third-ranked junior 132-pounder took those important first steps towards a third consecutive state tournament appearance on Saturday by dusting the rest of the field at a Class 1A sectional hosted by St. Edmond.

Rader (35-0) needed less than seven total minutes of mat time to claim the title. He disposed of Pocahontas Area's Edgar Ayala by technical fall in the semifinals and then decked ninth-ranked Kaleb Simacek of Manson-Northwest Webster in 3:37 in the title bout.

Of Rader's 35 wins this season, 29 have included bonus points. Only six opponents have managed to stay within eight points.

Rader was one of three Hawks to finish in the top two and advance to this Saturday's district at Clarion-Goldfield High School in Clarion.

Luke Peters (138) and Austin Roys (145) pushed through as runners-up. Brian Greenfield (126) and Josh Lutter (285) dropped wrestleback matches to qualify for districts and settled for third.
