NEH boys keep Eagles winless, 57-38; Seiser his 16th double-double

February 7, 2014
The Daily Freeman Journal

BURNSIDE - The Northeast Hamilton boys' basketball team flew out of the gates and scored 16 first-quarter points to leave no doubt early in its 57-38 non-conference victory over Southeast Webster-Grand here last night.

The Trojans (7-9) opened up a 12-point lead after one quarter and gradually increased the margin from there.

"It was a good win for us. We needed to get one against a team we should beat," NEH head coach John Seiser said.

Senior forward Logan Seiser is now 16 for 16 in terms of double-doubles on the season, as he paced NEH with 27 points and 13 rebounds. But an undisclosed illness sapped him of energy late and left his dad and coach wondering about his availability for games at sixth-ranked (Class 1A) Dunkerton and Tripoli on Friday and Saturday.

"Logan's battling some type of flu bug and he's pretty lethargic right now," John Seiser said. "It's kind of a concern moving forward."

Nick Jeffers also reached double figures with 12 points. Austin Smith added eight, and Tyler Smith and Hunter Dilley both contributed five.
