Through the month of February, Kendall Young Library is hosting a winter reading program.

Adults, young adults and children can read during this month and win prizes at the library. Adult Librarian Ketta-Lubberstedt-Arjes said there are two boxes, one in the teen section and other at the front desk, where readers can submit their name, phone number and the book they read. The form also asks readers to rate their book from one to five "mustaches."

On March 1, the library will draw from those submitted slips to give out prizes.

Adults who enter the program can win a gift card to Fiscella's Fine Baked Foods in Webster City. Young adults can win a $25 Amazon gift card. Other prizes include Kendall Young Library mugs and notebooks decorated with mustaches. Children who fill out reading logs can win a color creativity set and more.

The Library will also host a mustache day for kids on Feb. 20 from 4 to 5 p.m. with mustache crafts and treats.

To celebrate the reading program's theme, "We mustache you to read," the library is hosting a photo booth near the front desk. The booth has several mustaches, glasses and other props that readers can pose with. Lubberstedt-Arjes said the booth has been popular with kids. The library also has mustache temporary tattoos and mustache bookmarks for the public.
