Hamilton Co. GOP donates to Honor Flights

February 4, 2014
The Daily Freeman Journal
Connie Evans, left, representing the Hamilton County Republican Central Committee, presented a check for $600 to Cindi Sweedler to be used for an upcoming Brushy Creek Honor Flight. Sweedler recently wrote a letter to the editor encouraging people to donate to the Honor Flights to help send veterans on the trip to Washington D.C. Sweedler said her interest stemmed from the fact that her own father, who lives in Kossuth County, was unable to take part in an Honor Flight due to donation issues in that county. She said she stepped up to encourage Hamilton County donations to be sure those local veterans signed up for the next two flights are able to go. It costs about $600 to send a veteran on the trip, she said. Evans said the Hamilton County GOP strongly supports the military and felt the donation was a good way to show support for veterans.
