American Legion Post 191 hosted an open house for its members, the community and state, district and national officials Tuesday evening.
The event was part of a two-day revitalization effort for the local post led by National American Legion Commander Dan Dellinger.
The officials visited with local veterans, met with middle school classes and made stops at area care centers.

An award was presented to the Webster City High School Social Studies Department by Dellinger. The department is planning to present a USO show in March will feature the talents of many student groups. The proceeds from the event will help fund the expense of local veterans who have signed up for Brushy Creek Honor Flights this year.
